Decentralized generation: practical experience of Inventum Ukraine in implementing cogeneration solutions

In 2025, “Inventum Ukraine” implemented a number of projects for the deployment of cogeneration units based on INNIO Jenbacher equipment. The total electrical capacity of the commissioned facilities is 19 MW (see completed project).

Our company carried out a full cycle of works:

  • design and adaptation of solutions to specific construction sites;

  • foundation works considering vibration loads;

  • a full range of general construction works with interior finishing (see completed project);

  • installation of main and auxiliary equipment;

  • pipeline installation: gas, heat carrier, cooling liquid, oil, flue gases (see completed project);

  • installation and integration of a gas fire extinguishing system into the overall safety systems of the facility;

  • a set of electrical installation and commissioning works for medium-voltage (10–6 kV) and low-voltage (0.4 kV) networks with installation of switchgear, distribution points, and package transformer substations, etc.;

  • integration of instrumentation and automation (I&C) and process control systems;

  • synchronization with the power grid;

  • commissioning works.

All facilities were constructed in compliance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolution on the protection of critical infrastructure facilities “Country-Fortress”, as structural solutions must withstand shock and explosive loads:

  • reinforced concrete shelters were built;

  • anti-drone protective pre-detonation screens were installed.

The experience of “Inventum Ukraine” demonstrates that the rapid deployment of local generation combined with engineering protection not only helps to cover energy deficits exactly where needed, but also contributes to the formation of a resilient new-type energy architecture for the country.
